A.P.M - Ambient Party Machines
by Roman Weil and Tom Formont
As part of the hosted cycle for young designers, the madd-bordeaux invites A.P.M - Ambient Party Machines, a party environment designed by Roman Weil and Tom Formont, award winners of Audi Talents 2019.
By combining engineering and industrial design, their practice is deeply rooted into an approach promoting overall experience. Together, they build dynamic and luminous systems for resting areas in parties. Those machines being put together stand up for a joyful understanding of technical mechanisms. Through a new relationship, they create a multi-sensory experience to foster new connections between musicians, space and the audience. Their ultimate goal : letting go to enjoy how humans and technology respond to each other.
Tom Formont and Roman Weil are both graduated from CentraleSupélec in System Engineering and from ENSCI-Les Ateliers in Industrial Design. In 2019, they create Units, a design agency.

Cycle dedicated to young designers
Since 2014, the Museum of Decorative Arts and Design has set up a cycle dedicated to young figures of design. These invitations testify to the will of the madd-bordeaux to give the floor to creators who explore new fields of research around design, graphics, interactivity and digital. Several exhibitions have followed since the creation of the cycle: the Gambiarra by Basile de Gaulle and Romée de La Bigne from May 15 to October 15, 2014, Octave de Gaulle - Civilized Space from December 11, 2015 to April 10, 2016, the Salon de compagnie in virtual reality by Pietro Alberti from December 1st, 2017 to January 14th, 2018 and Phenomena - Design lifts the veil on the invisible technologies of everyday life by Raphaël Pluvinage and Marion Pinaffo from November 29th, 2018 to March 3rd, 2019.
