Fauteuil Diamond, Harry Bertoia
1952
The Diamond chair, with a structure of welded steel wire point by point is the result of studies conducted by sculpture Harry Bertoia on shape, space, volume. In Bertoia’s own words, “If you look at these chairs, they are mainly made of air, like sculpture. Space passes right through them”. The Diamond armchair, created in 1952, remains an icon of the mid-20th century design.
