History comes to the table
The exhibition History comes to the table, the menus of the Jean-Maurice Sacré collection present nearly 200 original menus from a private collection
Illustrious guests invite the public to their table, from King George II (menu of 1737) to J.F Kennedy (1961), via Napoleon III and Empress Eugénie (1852-1870), their Austrian counterparts François-Joseph and Sissi, his cousin Louis II of Bavaria, Tsar Nicolas II, or even the Shah of Iran and the presidents of the French Republic. Alongside those of these sumptuous meals, there will also be the menus from the First World War (1914-1918) or those of the siege of Paris (1870-1871). The most prestigious menus are accompanied by vintage table service pieces. A rich and exciting journey that tells us History... by the menu.
