Premier volet d'une série de trois expositions dédiées à ce don exceptionnel.

This new room, located at the beginning of the tour, is dedicated to graphic arts (painting, drawing, prints, photography, engravings, posters), which are particularly sensitive to light and humidity variations. The works, drawn from the museum's collections and borrowed from other museums and private collectors, will be rotated regularly.

The graphic arts gallery will be inaugurated with the exhibition: Selected Works - A Look at Jacques Sargos' Collection of Drawings. Well known to collectors and museum professionals, Jacques Sargos - founder of the Horizon Chimérique gallery in Bordeaux, which specialises in the sale of drawings, paintings, sculptures and archival documents - has donated part of his personal collection of drawings (137 antique and modern drawings as well as several documents) to the museum, relating to decorative arts, interior design, architecture and ornamentation. This collection spans four centuries of creativity; it is both varied and coherent, comprising rare and exceptional pieces as well as others that are more modest but of definite scientific interest. Together, they offer an overview of architectural, ornamental and illustrative drawing. Around forty drawings selected from this collection will be displayed in rotation in this space when the museum reopens.
