Welcome to the madd-bordeaux

Dear visitors and dear friends of madd-bordeaux,

This summer, the madd-bordeaux team offers you to discover Farmer designers: an art of living (until 17 January 2022), in the former prison. This exhibition aims to present a new generation of farmers who are looking to feed us while regenerating the soil rather than exploiting it. Like a designer, they are inventing new farming processes, taking into account the specific features of the context and tools, which they readily reinvent. It demonstrates the scales of crops and production, offers insights into new farming practices and reexamines the dimension of time. Here in France as well as on other continents, it explores the origins of a new culture that places people at the heart of unprecedented ties with their environment and the living beings that are part of it.
The exhibition continues off-site with nine thematic gardens in Bordeaux and a programme of farms and estates visits in the region and beyond

Punctuating all the rooms of the hôtel de Lalande, the presentation Flashback, focus on the recent donations and the last acquisitions of the madd-bordeaux (until 19 September 2021), with a selection of more than 80 works of decorative arts and design, reveals the museum acquisitions of these last few years. The opportunity for the public to (re)discover remarkable pieces made by big names in design, including Ron Arad, François Bauchet, Pierre Charpin, Olivier Gagnère, Jaime Hayon, Chris Kabel, Peter Shire, Ettore Sottsass, Martin Szekely, Marcel Wanders et Daniel Weil.
